The following information must be submitted with the application and will be verified by BICC:
BICC requires primary source verification of all educational certificates and/or degrees. All applicants should request transcripts, copies of degrees, and/or diplomas to be submitted to BICC directly by the institution that awarded the credential.
Applicants should submit a separate BICC Relevant Training Form signed by a supervisor for each component of training that comprises the 40-hour training requirement. Training can be completed in-person or online and can be didactic or experiential.
Applicants should submit a separate BICC Relevant Experience Form signed by a supervisor for each volunteer, internship, or work experience that accrues toward the minimum experience requirement of 15 hours.
a. BICC Code of Ethics:
Applicants are required to read, sign, and agree to adhere to the Code of Ethics.
b. Background Check:
In order to be eligible to sit for the BCAT exam, candidates must complete a Department of Justice (DOJ) LiveScan. The results of rolling background checks can be viewed at the BICC online registry. All BICC candidates and certificants must maintain an active DOJ background check. Most background checks are completed within three days, but start this process early to avoid delays in establishing your eligibility to sit for the BCAT exam.
Applicants should complete full registration profile prior to exam date.
BICC is committed to protecting confidential and/or proprietary information related to applicants; candidates; certificants; and the examination development, maintenance, and administration process.
Information about an applicant/candidate/certificant will only be released to that individual unless release of the information is authorized in writing by the individual or is required by law. An individual’s application status, test scores, and personal information submitted with an application for certification or recertification, including results of any background check, is considered confidential. All application information is confidential and will not be shared with any party other than BICC’s examination development or administration vendors for certification processing purposes.
